Project 4 Proposal
In my fourth project I am thinking creating a diptych that connect totally unrelated objects together. Similar scenes can surely be blend together easily and can some how create interesting illusion for audience, such as landscapes or objects that belongs to the same series. However, my diptych will contain two completely different objects. The first one pair I am thinking is an picture of landscape and a water bottle that has the reflection of landscape. If I can somehow managed to have the reflection of rainy days and sunny at the same place will be even better which will create another diptych.
Ch3 Review
Chapter 3 of the book raises a question of aesthetics in the area of photography. “Deadpan” images may not be dramatical or exaggerated than normally impressed images but it creates a onlooking angle of view of photographer. When applied as illustration of the book, the size and resolution of the images reduces because a book-size print can not afford the sharpness. Therefore, in this chapter, we can no longer see photos of models with exaggerated facial expression and dramatical lighting effect as we saw in chapter 2. In the opposite, “deadpan” photos come directly form the nature.
Ch2 Review
The main idea of chapter 2 is “once upon a time ”and it mainly talks about the different stories in art photography. The author focuses on popular representations or art works in contemporary society, which is promote narrative photos as individual images. This photographical style was an inheriting of the 18th century photography and 19th century implied meaning painting of the west. However, it was not a recall of religious movement but a creative style for nowadays photographers to produce narrative works through settings and human gestures. It is a very delicate process for photographer to manage among all elements and environments in order to receive the perfect effect.
